Florida FFL Transfer Process

As a licensed Florida FFL dealer, we handle firearm transfers for Florida residents with precision and care. The process begins when you purchase a firearm online and select Sunshine Gun Shop as your receiving FFL. We’ll contact you once the firearm arrives at our Orlando facility.

Florida law requires a mandatory waiting period for handgun purchases. For Florida residents, this means a 3-day waiting period (excluding weekends and holidays) from the time you complete your background check. Long gun purchases do not have this waiting period requirement under Florida law.

When you visit our Orlando shop to complete your transfer, bring your valid Florida driver’s license or state ID. We’ll process the required ATF Form 4473 and initiate your background check through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Our team will guide you through each step, ensuring full compliance with Florida regulations.

We charge a reasonable transfer fee that covers our administrative costs and secure storage. Contact us before shipping to confirm current rates and provide your shipping information. We work with Florida residents statewide, coordinating with other FFLs when needed for convenient pickup locations.
