That’s why the Basic Forward Set Trigger Kit for Polymer Frame M&P M2.0 Pistols is built with corrosion-resistant materials that hold up to the marine environment. This kit is a direct drop-in replacement for your factory trigger assembly and sear lever — no fitting required. You get a solid body aluminum trigger that’s hard coat anodized for long-term durability, paired with a precision-machined Forward Set Sear Actuator. Together, these two parts reduce overall trigger travel by approximately 35%, giving you a shorter reset and less over-travel compared to the stock setup.

This kit is designed for shooters who want a more efficient trigger stroke without changing pull weight. The trigger pull weight will remain close to factory spec — typically between 4 lbs and 6 lbs based on our testing — because this kit does not include replacement springs. Your results may vary depending on the factory sear and striker already in your pistol. If you want a smoother trigger feel, you’ll need our Ultimate Striker Block (sold separately). Here’s what the kit includes and what it does:

• Replacement Trigger: Apex solid body aluminum trigger with a center-mounted pivoting safety. The trigger body is machined from aluminum and hard coat anodized for corrosion resistance and durability in Florida’s humid conditions.
• Forward Set Sear Actuator: The core of the system. This component moves the striker release point further forward, which reduces overall trigger travel. It also allows the over-travel stop on the Apex trigger to control where the trigger stops after the shot.
• Drop-in Fitment: Direct replacement for the factory trigger assembly and sear lever on polymer frame M&P M2.0 pistols. Both components must be installed together — the pistol will not function properly if only one is used.

What this kit does NOT do:

• It does not make the pre-travel or trigger pull any smoother (for that, add the Ultimate Striker Block).
• It does not include replacement springs to adjust trigger pull weight (use the complete Forward Set Trigger Kit or the upcoming Special Sear Kit for Basics Kits).
• It does not change the trigger pull weight — this kit is purely about reducing travel and reset length.
